WHITE SPOT LESIONS

In patients receiving fixed orthodontic treatment (braces), white spots lesions can occur beneath broken bands, around the bracket base and in areas where proper brushing is difficult.

Trauma or Infection in primary tooth can cause discoloration in developing permanent tooth, which can also appear as white spot lesions.

White spot lesions occur as a result of subsurface enamel demineralization on smooth surfaces of teeth.

Treatment options include:

• Fluoride application

• Teeth whitening

• Micro-abrasion and MI paste

• Icon resin infiltrate

• Resin bonding/filling
